HELI SKIING

Heli Skiing in Revelstoke

Revelstoke is known for winter activities, but heli skiing is the reason visitors from around the world flock here. One of the greatest aspects of heli skiing in Revelstoke versus other heli ski destinations is there are rarely no-fly days because of how varied the terrain is. Weather-wise, the mountains where heli skiing takes place typically see over 700 inches per year! And if you love tree skiing, Revelstoke is the place to be with its pristine forests.

CAT SKIING

Cat Skiing in Revelstoke

Revelstoke is British Columbia’s premier cat ski destination. Cat skiing season is from December-March. If you encounter a day when heli skiing isn’t possible due to grounding, cat skiing is the best way to cover vertical and still avoid crowds at the nearby ski resort. For groups of up to 12 skiiers and boarders, private cat skiing is available with Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Be sure to check out Badshot Range in the Sellkirk Mountains for incredible fresh powder and terrain.

NORDIC SKIING

Nordic Skiing in Revelstoke

The most popular nordic skiing in Revelstoke takes place at Mt Revelstoke National Park. There are 10 kilometers of groomed ski trails that carve through the forest. Just outside of Revy in the Monashee Mountains is the Revelstoke Nordic trail system. These trails extend 28 kilometers and provide skiers trails that wind through lakes, creeks, and forests. If you have your canine companion with you, there are dog-friendly trails. Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is a great resource for trail tips and maps.

SNOWMOBILING

Snowmobiling in Revelstoke

When in Revelstoke, one of the least physically demanding but extremely fun winter activities is by far snowmobiling. Revelstoke has 50 kilometers of trails across 150 square kilometers of terrain. These trails are accessible for all experience levels, from beginner to expert. Great Canadian Tours is Revy’s only licensed snowmobile operator with access to a wide array of groomed trails and great alpine terrain. Private guides, sled rentals, short tours, and multi-day tours are available.

ICE CLIMBING

Ice Climbing in Revelstoke

If you visit Revelstoke between November – February and the temperatures dip below -30 C, it’s prime time to learn ice climbing. There are still numerous spots yet to be explored and new ones being discovered yearly. We suggest hiring a local guide and heading out for a challenging adventure. Guides will assist with choosing the best routes in accordance with local weather conditions. This activity is a must for anyone looking to advance their mountaineering skills.

SNOWKITING

Snowkiting in Revelstoke

If you’ve never experienced snowkiting, Revelstoke is a great place to learn. Snowkiting, sometimes called kite skiing is a sport very similar to kitesurfing in that the skier uses a kite to glide or slide on snow but with a different set of rules. Snowkiting can take place on flat terrain like a frozen lake, and it is also possible to snowkite on upward terrain with enough wind. Beginners with intermediate to advance skiing abilities can pick up the sport in a matter of days.

HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs in Revelstoke

Hot springs are extremely popular with locals and visitors. For skiers and non-skiers alike, be prepared to completely transform your mind and body after relaxing in these geothermally heated pools. Whether you’re looking for a spa experience or a more rugged outing, there are numerous springs to choose from. The most well-known being Halfway River Hot Springs (also known as Nakusp) and Halcyon Hot Spring Resort. Both are a bit of a drive but absolutely worth it.
