MOUNTAIN BIKING

Mountain Biking in Revelstoke

Mountain biking is one of the most popular summer activities in Revelstoke. Whether you enjoy downhill mountain biking, cross country mountain biking, or would like to experience hike-n-bike, Revelstoke has over 120 kilometers of singletrack to explore. Trails range from green to black with varied terrain and impressive views. Make sure to check out the Revelstoke Mountain Resort lift accessible bike trail which offers a wild 15 kilometer downhill ride and breathtaking views.

ROCK CLIMBING

Rock Climbing in Revelstoke

Adventure sports enthusiasts heading to Revelstoke in the summer are highly likely to include rock climbing in their itineraries. The best parts of climbing in Revy are the number of crags and the variety of climbs to choose from. Around Revelstoke, there are 17 climbing areas, 69 developed cliffs, over 450 rock routes, and more than 800 climbing pitches. Many of the rock climbing crags in Revy are managed by the Revelstoke Climbers Access Society. RCAS use their membership fees to create and maintain crags.

PARAGLIDING

Paragliding in Revelstoke

Paragliding in Revelstoke is not only breathtakingly beautiful but absolutely exhilarating. If you’ve ever had the desire to fly (who hasn’t?), this is a must.

The primary location to take off is Revelstoke Mountain Resort. For visiting pilots, Revelstoke Mountain Resort allows you to launch with your own wings. Check with the tour operator, Revelstoke Paragliding, to know the rules before arriving with your gear.

RAFTING

Rafting in Revelstoke

Rafting is one of the most popular water sports in Revelstoke. Adventure lovers come to Revelstoke between June and early July for high water season when they have access to class 3-4 rapids. As summer progresses, the water levels drop making white water rafting more accessible for families.

Only a short drive from Reve Chalet are the Illecillewaet River and Jordan River which offer rapids class 2–4. Water levels dictate the minimum age for participants.

PIPE MOUNTAIN COASTER

Between June and September head to Revelstoke Mountain Resort to experience the most family friendly summer activities in town. It comes as no surprise Revelstoke’s #1 summer attraction is a ride that winds through ski runs for 1.4 kilometers at up to 42 kph.

Single rides, day passes, and twilight passes are available. Keep in mind, this activity is first come first serve and sells out quickly. With Reve Chalet only 2 minutes from the resort, you won’t have to travel far.

HIKING

Hiking in Revelstoke

Revelstoke is an amazing hiking destination with endless possibilities for all trail lovers! You will find something for all skill levels from glaciers, alpine meadows, and lakes to rainforests and waterfalls.

Besides the trails around the town, you can also head to Mount Revelstoke National Park which is 40 minutes away. The scenic meadows off the Sky Parkway take you to different trailheads to access the summit area for mountaintop views.

FISHING

Fishing in Revelstoke

It’s been said Revelstoke is an undiscovered fishing destination and we agree. Within 50 kilometers of the city, there are more than 200 bodies of water. During prime fishing season, which lasts from mid-summer to early fall, rainbow trout, giant bull trout, and cutthroat are popular catches.

If it’s your first time fishing in Revelstoke, we suggest going with a guide for a rewarding experience. British Columbia fishing licenses are required and available online or with tour operators.

CAMPING

The abundance of hiking trails around Revelstoke brings with it great campsites. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy solitude by hiking into the backcountry to find the perfect spot for your tent.
